Where is the wedding venue?
We are getting married at the Sawtooth Lodge in Grandjean, Idaho on June 29th, 2024.
What is the Sawtooth Lodge?
The Sawtooth Lodge is a recreational area with cabins, yurts, meadows for camping, and RV sites. It also has a hot springs-fed geothermal pool, natural hot springs, nature walks, and a to-go restaurant aka "The Lodge". There is little indoor area to congregate in, so please be prepared to spend most of your time outdoors. CLICK HERE to see the map of the site. Why did we choose this venue?
There were several reasons we choose this place. One of them being that the Sawtooth Lodge is only 2.5 hours away from Boise, so our friends who live in town have the option to drive in and out the same day.
Another big reason is because we had our first camping trip together as a couple at an unimproved camping site in Grandjean near the Sawtooth Lodge. Here are a few a photos from that camping trip taken June of 2014.
Another reason is that we have always enjoyed family camping trips with Aaron's family over the years and loved the idea of gathering for another family camping trip except this time with a ceremony attached. Here are some photos of our 2019 camping trip at Stanley Lake which is about an hour away from the Sawtooth Lodge.
Lastly, we thought this venue really just fit our vibe. It's absolutely beautiful. We love camping and being outdoors. We love a relaxed, non-structured gathering. We had actually never stayed at the Sawtooth Lodge until we considered getting married there. We visited it in 2022 and absolutely loved it! A year later, we brought our immediate family along to get their opinion and, luckily, they loved it, too!
